Mechanical engineering for cable laying.

Swiss mechanical engineering – from cable reel trailers to battery-powered cable pull machines. Based in Langnau since 1876.

Product Categories

Cable pull machines

Models available in multiple pulling force classes – with an open capstan, on a road trailer, on a crawler, and as a sled winch. Now also available in a battery-electric version for CO₂-neutral construction sites.

Service from a single source

Everything involved in mechanical engineering – design, construction, sales, service, and training – is handled under one roof at Jost. All disciplines are located at the same site:

Service and Repair

Service, overhaul, troubleshooting, modifications, and modernisations – for Jost machines throughout their entire lifecycle.

About Service and Repair

Training

Operation, safety, anchoring, rope techniques – in the show- and training room in Langnau or at the customer’s site.

About Training

Consulting and Engineering

Consulting, engineering, sales, service, and training tailored to specific applications – selecting the right machine, clarifying requirements and planning custom solutions. Not a sales pitch, but a thorough assessment of your needs.

Where Jost makes a difference

Significant added value in machine operation – specifically, effective in day-to-day work, and built in thoughtfully.

Costs

Open capstan – saves on labor, fuel, and machinery costs.

Cable pull machines with an open capstan pull the cable endlessly from one side. Compared to conventional methods, this saves one worker, one towing vehicle, and one auxiliary winch per installation, directly reducing labor, fuel, and equipment costs.

Security

Safety as an integrated concept.

All Jost cable pull machines can be fitted with a safety guard that shields the operator in the event of a rope break the most common serious hazard associated with cable pulling. In addition, we provide calculations and measurements of pulling forces, anchoring aids, and training on rope handling. Safety is a key focus at Jost and is considered an integral part of the design process right from the drawing stage.

Environmental protection

Zero emissions during operation—no fuel, no exhaust, no noise.

The KZW 25 E, a battery-powered cable pull machine available since 2026, consumes no fuel during operation, emits no exhaust fumes, and operates without the noise of a combustion engine. Ideal for enclosed environments, city centers, night work, and sensitive infrastructure with noise or emission restrictions.
