Cable laying technology, energy technology and trailer construction from the Emmental region since 1876.

Jost Ltd. manufactures machinery for cable laying technology: cable pull machines, thrust equipment, cable coil trailers, and related accessories. This has led to the development of two additional business divisions: Energy technology under hNEA and trailer construction under Tanner swisstrailer.

Unique in the world:

Cable pull machine KZW 25 E

Battery-powered, 25 kN, all-day operation—no exhaust fumes, no noise.

Production in Langnau

Jost Ltd. manufactures cable laying technology, energy technology, and trailers in two production facilities in Langnau. The company was founded in 1876 and, 150 years later, still operates from the same location.

Design, in-house locksmithery, manufacturing, assembling, sales, service, and training are all  integrated here. With opdesign ltd. as our Engineering partner and modern manufacturing cells, the site handles design, manufacturing, testing, and support.

Jost Ltd. is part of the Tibram Group, which is owner-managed, largely self-financed, and entirely Swiss-owned.

The entire building has been renovated to Minergie standards. Within its own value chain, Jost Ltd. has been operating in a carbon-neutral manner since 2024.

What applies within our own operations also shapes our products: Lower consumption during use.
The hNEA hybrid emergency power system, developed in collaboration with BKW Energie AG, reduces diesel consumption and CO₂ emissions by 80% compared to a conventional emergency power generator. The KZW 25 E electric cable pull machine pulls cables emission-free – without fuel, exhaust fumes, or noise.

Security

At Jost Ltd., operator safety is a design priority: We have calculated the forces involved in a rope break and tested them in laboratory trials. That is why a full-height protective guardrai – including foot and shin protection – is installed between the rope and the operator; this is standard on every large cable pull machine, not an option. The tarpaulin cover, which provides passive protection against the effects of rope breaks, also offers additional protection from the weather and sun.

Part of the Tibram Group

Three core companies: Jost Ltd. and opdesign ltd. from Langnau, Tibram Ltd. from Uetendorf – and two brands of Jost Ltd.: TANNER swisstrailer and hNEA. Within the group, Jost’s construction machinery capabilities complement Tibram Ltd.’s metal processing expertise.
