KZW 25 E – the battery-powered cable pull winch
Battery-powered, 25 kN, all-day operation – no exhaust fumes, no noise.
The KZW 25 E is a battery-powered cable pull machine available as a sled winch, on a trailer, or on a tracked undercarriage for cable pulling up to 25 kN, both off-road and in residential areas. The energy storage system is designed to last a full workday. It performs cable pulling emission-free, CO₂-neutral, and silently – even when working at night near residential buildings where noise and emissions would otherwise be a problem.
Your benefits at a glance
Battery-powered, for a full workday – CO₂-free and silent; the energy storage lasts a full workday – even at night and near residential areas, where noise and exhaust fumes would otherwise be a problem.
25 kN on a crawler chassis – capable of pulling loads up to 2.5 t both off-road and in built-up areas, without the need for a separate carrier vehicle.
Open capstan – The open capstan allows for flexible rope pulls and the use of rope connectors.
Control and tensile data, standard features – radio remote control, tensile force and length display, traction force limitation, and data logging via the control unit – the cable pull is controlled and documented.
Passive protection against rope break – A man-high, hot-dip galvanized steel mesh with foot and shin protection shields the operator. The aerodynamic tarpaulin cover keeps out the sun and the elements and is also an integral part of the passive protection against the effects of rope break.
Three versions
The right model depends on the intended use and access to the work site.
As a sled
The KZW 25 E is also available as a compact skid-mounted winch. With its solid frame chassis, this winch is ideal for custom platform and pickup truck bodies – anywhere where access, space, or ground conditions make a trailer impractical. Where no road leads, the helicopter flies the winch directly to the site.

On a trailer
The KZW 25 E is transported to the construction site on a sturdy, road-approved trailer capable of speeds up to 100 km/h. An aerodynamic tarpaulin cover protects the load in the event of a rope break, as well as from the sun and the elements.
Key figures

- Weight with trailer and tarpaulin cover, without rope: 1,050 kg
- Total trailer weight: 1,300 kg
- Pull rope, Standard Reel No. 5:
- Steel rope, 8 mm diameter × 700 m
- Fiber rope, 6 mm diameter × 1,200 m
- Battery capacity:
- 15 kWh (standard)

On a tracked undercarriage
Thanks to its crawler tracks, the KZE 25 ER can travel off-road or into tight construction sites – it’s compact, quick to load, and can operate even where there is no permanent access road.

Electric drive and battery options
The travel and winch drives are electric, powered by an energy storage system consisting of three batteries (15 kWh standard), expandable to 20 or 25 kWh; an automatic parking brake secures the load. An electrically operated dozer blade is included in the standard configuration.
The larger energy storage (20 or 25 kWh) extends the operating time during continuous use; Jost will help you determine which configuration is best suited to your operating needs and charging infrastructure during the consultation.
Advice and next steps
The KZW 25 E falls into the 2.5-ton class; if its pulling power isn’t sufficient, the larger classes can handle the job, while the lighter models are adequate for smaller tasks. Jost will determine during the technical consultation whether the battery-electric machine is suitable for your application – taking into account operating time, accessibility, and noise and emission requirements.
